Dr. Cheryl S. Greene (Ed. D.) has worked extensively in the fields of education, prevention and behavioral health, including district and school-level administration, leadership and staff development, post-secondary teaching, school counseling, and program development.
She is currently the principal at Kyrene de la Esperanza, a K-5 elementary school in the Kyrene School District. Within 1 year of her principalship, Kyrene de la Esperanza received the “Excelling” school label, the highest possible rating awarded by the Arizona Department of Education.
In 2004, while serving in the role of Assistant Director of Educational Services for the Kyrene School District, Dr. Greene created and produced, Voices of Color, a powerful tool for engaging teachers and other school personnel in "courageous conversation," a term Glenn Singleton coined for interracial dialogue about race and student achievement. Eager to share the wisdom of the Voices of Color students with a broader audience, Dr. Greene presented Voices of Color at two national conferences and in 2007, developed the Voices of Color website.
Dr. Cheryl S. Greene has a deep understanding of educational systems and the complex issues and challenges that educators and students face each and every day. She is available for educational consulting, coaching, and staff development. For further information, please send an email to Cheryl@VoicesOfColor.com.
